What is this Feature About?
The maximum allowed session timeout has been increased to 10 minutes (600 seconds) for all authentication and transaction sessions across all Futurae services.
Previously, the maximum session timeout was limited to 120 seconds (2 minutes) by default.,With this improvement, it is now possible to start authentication and transaction confirmation sessions with a validity of up to 10 minutes (600 seconds), across all Futurae services.
This change is optional and will not immediately impact the validity of authentication or transaction sessions started at Futurae. The default session_timeout remains unchanged (60 seconds, unless configured otherwise at service level), and is applied to every authentication started without a session_timeout specified in the request payload. For customers currently specifying a session_timeout on a request base, the specified session_timeout will be applied as session duration, considering that the provided value is valid and within the limits of 30 to 600 seconds.
It is possible to specify the default service-level session_timeout through the Admin API – Update Service Information endpoint.
What do I need to do?
To take advantage of longer session durations, you can update your service configuration through the Admin API and define a new default session_timeout of up to 600 seconds. Alternatively, you may still pass the session_timeout parameter on a request level, when calling Authenticate User or Authenticate Transaction if you need more granular, dynamic control.
Why is this Feature Important?
This enhancement gives you flexibility when managing authentication and transaction flows, while also improving the user experience by reducing unnecessary session expirations.
Overall, this update makes session management more powerful, consistent, and easier to control across all services.
