During the monthly automatic TLS certificate renewal Let’s Encrypt issued a new certificate that includes Let’s Encrypt ISRG Root X1 intermediate certificate.
Let’s Encrypted had notified customers on February 22nd, that starting on June 6th, new certificates would include Let’s Encrypt ISRG Root X1 intermediate certificate. However the certificate that was issued by Let’s Encrypt for api.futurae.com on March 1st already had the new version of the intermediate certificate.
After careful evaluation, it has been decided to revert to the original certificate on March 13th at 12:00 CET. At this time we will go back to Let's Encrypt intermediate cross-signed by IdenTrust’s DST Root CA X3 certificate.
This decision comes in response to identified issues experienced by some devices running older Android versions 6 and 7 that do not trust Let’s Encrypt ISRG Root X1 intermediate certificate yet.
To avoid compatibility concerns, we recommend that applications connecting to api.futurae.com, trust Let’s Encrypt Root X3 intermediate certificate.
